Obituary for Mark Flanagan

Mark W. Flanagan
July 18, 1945 - May 10, 2017
Mark W. Flanagan, 71, of DeWitt passed away on Wednesday. Mark was born in Binghamton, NY and was the youngest of his three siblings, two of which had predeceased him, M. Jane and Brian Flanagan. For a time Mark lived in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands and resided in the Syracuse area for most of his life. He cherished time with his family and friends on his boat and camp in the Adirondacks.
With a lifelong passion for cooking and serving others, he prepared countless meals for family, friends and Meals on Wheels.
Survivors include his children, Shannon Flanagan-Watson (Michael Watson) and Brian Flanagan (Stela); his grandchildren, Meghan Watson and Ethan Flanagan and his brother, John Flanagan. His beloved wife, MaryLou (Paglia) Flanagan predeceased him in 2010.
Calling hours will be Sunday, May 14th, from 3 to 5 pm at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse. A Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 15th at 10:00 am at Holy Cross Church, DeWitt. The family will receive guests during a reception at the church immediately following the Mass. A private burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Binghamton.
