Obituary for Anthony Spetrino

Anthony J. “Whitey” Spetrino
June 24, 2017
Anthony J. Spetrino, 87, of Syracuse passed on Saturday. Anthony was a native of Rome, N.Y. but lived in Syracuse most of his life. He was a 1948 graduate of North High. Anthony was an avid sportsman, who loved playing baseball and golf. He was employed as a carpenter for the Local Union #12, various builders including Alibrandi Builders and J. A. Vault Builders and he retired from Onondaga County. Anthony proudly served in the US Navy from 1948 – 1952 on the USS Salem CA 139. He was predeceased by his three siblings. Survivors include his loving wife, Carol Spetrino; a sister, Laura Mezzanotte of Syracuse, a son, Carl Spetrino, of Myrtle Beach, SC, a daughter, Deborah Revere – Huba and her husband James of East Syracuse, five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday 4 p.m to 7 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd. Syracuse. Services will be Wednesday 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery’s Mausoleum.
