August 1, 2017
Ingeborg H. Taper, 90, of Syracuse passed away peacefully on Tuesday after a 12 year battle with Alzheimer’s. Born in Oberstreu, Germany, she was the oldest of 13 children (as she would say, she was #1). Inga was also a 35 year breast cancer survivor. Affectionately known as “Oma” to many, she was retired from Ames Dept. Store and loves spending time in her garden. Many thanks to the caring staff at the VNA Eldercare program that she attended daily for the last 4 years. Ingeborg was predeceased by her husband, John Taper in 1998. Survivors include her two daughters, Marlene C. Taper of Suffield, CT. and Susan C. (Brian) Yerdon of Syracuse; a son, John M. (Tricia) of Houston, TX.; her siblings, Walter, Elfriede, Gerlinde, Roswitha, Ursula, Marlene, and Marga; six grandchildren, Natalie, Morgan, John, Merritt, Benjamin and Danielle.
